CyrusOne builds and operates state-of-the-art enterprise data centers for the largest companies in the world. They provide collocation solutions for over 100 of the Fortune 1000 and nine of the Fortune 20 global companies. In 2012, Ricor, Inc. broke ground on the 57-acre CyrusOne Chandler, Arizona campus, which is slated to be nearly 1 million square-feet of space– the largest data center in the state.
The first building has 76,000 square feet of raised floor and there is room for eight more buildings on the campus. The data center is being designed for an average draw of 250 watts per square foot, with the ability to go up to 1,000 watts per square foot for customers with extremely dense specialized equipment. To support this potential demand, there is 110MW electrical substation onsite.
The buildings have been designed with a unique V-shaped roof that prevents water collection over areas of the data center where customers might have sensitive equipment. Security is achieved through reinforced physical structure, steel perimeter fencing, concrete bollards, steel-lined walls, and bulletproof glass. On-site security guards monitor the facility 24 hours a day, 365 days a year using video surveillance, man traps, revolving entrance doors, and biometric scanning and key card security.
Ricor, Inc. performed earthwork, asphalt paving, underground utilities and site concrete work on the project.
